What to Do If Your Meeting Location Requests Proof of Insurance

If you facilitate an in-person SMART Recovery meeting in the United States, your meeting location may occasionally ask for a Certificate of Insurance (COI). This is a standard requirement for many community spaces (such as libraries, churches, or community centers) and helps the location confirm that the meeting is covered under SMART Recovery’s insurance.

The National Office can provide this for you.

To request a Certificate of Insurance, email support@smartrecovery.org and include:

  • Your meeting number

  • The meeting location name and full address

  • Your name and contact information
